FM Transmitter

The main components are microphone, antenna, 2N2222A NPN Transistor. The range of the transmitter when running at 9V is about 300 feet. Running it from 12V increases the range to about 400 feet. This transmitter should not be used as a room or telephone bug

Objective of the Work

The objective of this work is to transmit the signals by frequency modulation. The concept of having no wires connecting devices to each other is appealing for several reasons. Wires can be complicated and untidy, having no wires is aesthetically pleasing. Information can be accessed almost anywhere and people can communicate with one another.

Technical Approach
For the hardware construction we used a Phillips 89C51 microcontroller, DTMF Transceiver (MT8888), PLL synthesizer (MB1519), regulated power supply, LCD display. These are available anywhere in the market, and are very less in cost.

Literature Survey
For writing we referred microcontroller text book. The code is very simple. And we implement where ever we want. “How to use Keil 8051 C Compiler” by Kim Hyoung tae is the handy book with which we can learn the usage and applications of the keil software.

General Description:

The 8051 is just one of the MCS-51 family of microcontrollers developed by Intel. The design of each of the MCS-51 microcontrollers is more or less the same. The difference between each member of the family is the amount of on-chip memory and the number of timers.
Phillips 89C51 contains a non-volatile FLASH program memory that is parallel programmable. Phillips 89C51, 8-bit Micro controller from MHS-51 Intel family, with 4K bytes of flash and 128 bytes of internal RAM had been used. It has a 40-pin configuration and other components of interfaced to its ports. The Micro controller takes input from the external sources and routes them to the appropriate devices as programmed in it.

89C51 has the following standard features: Central Processing Unit, On-chip FLASH Program Memory, Speedup to 33 MHz, Fully Static Operation, RAM expandable externally up to 64 Kbytes, Four interrupt priority levels, Six interrupt sources, Four 8-bit input output ports, Full-duplex enhanced UART .

. About the Transmitter:

• The STT-433 is ideal for remote control applications where low cost and longer range is required.
• The transmitter operates from a1.5-12V supply, making it ideal for battery-powered applications.
• The transmitter employs a SAW-stabilized oscillator, ensuring accurate frequency control for best range performance.
• The manufacturing-friendly SIP style package and low-cost make the STT-433 suitable for high volume applications.

Pin Description:

• GND: Transmitter ground-Connect to ground plane.
• DATA: Digital data input. This input is CMOS compatible and should be driven with CMOS level inputs.
• VCC: Operating voltage for the transmitter. VCC bypassed with should be a .01uF ceramic capacitor and filtered with a 4.7uF tantalum capacitor. Noise on the power supply will degrade transmitternoise performance.
• ANT: 50ohm antenna output. The antenna port impedance affects output power and harmonic emissions.

. Pin Description:

• ANT- Antenna input.
• GND-Receiver Ground. Connect to ground plane.
• VCC- VCC pins are electrically connected and provide operating voltage for the receiver. VCC can be applied to either or both. VCC should be bypassed with a .1μF ceramic capacitor. Noise on the power supply will degrade receiver sensitivity.
• DATA-Digital data output. This output is capable of driving one TTL or CMOS load. It is a CMOS compatible output.
