Under Floor Air Distribution for Intelligent buildings
I. Introduction

UFAD = Under Floor Air Distribution
• Belongs to intelligent buildings category
• Ventilation control = real automation problem
• Example of Automation problem :
- wireless automation
- control of complex interconnected system
• Aim of the project and implimentation:
-> Communicate through Zigbee to obtain temperature measurement from a building sample.
I. Zigbee
• Algorithm to implement
- Device Configuration and coordinator

- Connecting the Coordinator and slaves

- Transmission of room temperatures across the wireless network

- Data transmission to PC
Temperature sensors
The measurements of temperature sensors are very noisy, so:
-> Use a small temperature range around our point of operation.
-> Use an electronic card to extract measures by raising the minimum current in the sensor (to limit heating).
The equations linking the values
in hexadecimal temperatures are:
Vn: Hexadecimal value of room temperature
Tn: Temperature
II. Software used
• Silicon Laboratories IDE
The Silicon Laboratories Integrated Development Environment (IDE) is a complete, stand-alone software program that includes a project and implimentation manager, source editor, source-level debugger and other utilities. The IDE interfaces to third party development tool chains to provide system designers a complete embedded software development environment.
• SmartRF™ Packet Sniffer
-The SmartRF™ Packet Sniffer is a PC software application used to display and store packets captured
III. Functions
• Void CheckButton(void)
• polls the four buttons.
• -Each button has an associate count variable in the Button array.
• -called from main
• -Once a button press has been detected, the button state variable will be set to button press.
• -The button state variable is reset to BUTTON_UP status by the associate button function once completely serviced.
