WAN BASED CONTROL OF SINGLE PHASE INDUCTION MOTOR AND MONITORING
ABSTRACT

To provide a system for controlling single phase induction machines using wireless sensor networks
To avoid unexpected equipment failures and obtain higher accuracy in diagnostic and prognostic for the health condition of a motor, efficient and comprehensive data collecting, monitoring, and control play an important role to improve the system more reliable and effective.
A novel wireless data collection for health monitoring system of electric machine based on GSM is proposed and developed in this project and implimentation.
INTRODUCTION
Inexpensive sensing devices are expected to play a major role in future computing systems. They aim to make the daily life of their users easier by monitoring everyday physical processes and providing novel features based on the acquired data.
Finally, a commercial infrastructure is needed to manufacture and deploy the transmitting, receiving and communicating devices like various modem, and to generate revenue from the system.
The wireless sensor system provides a unique opportunity to overcome these difficulties. Sensing technologies can be implemented using transmitters and a receiver and accessed from central controlling unit wireless sensor networks.
PROBLEM IDENTIFICATION
Monitoring the electrical machines status at low cost does not exist.
ON/OFF control of induction motor is not available using GSM
In current systems, the scan area is may be highly noisy environment. So conventional sensor networks fail in industrial environment.
Between client side and the server side no reliable RF communication is available between the control cabin and the load side.
Wireless communication
In telecommunications, wireless communication may be used to transfer information over short distances (a few meters as in television remote control) or long distances (thousands or millions of kilometers for radio communications). The term is often shortened to "wireless".
It encompasses various types of fixed, mobile, and portable two-way radios, cellular telephones, personal digital assistants (PDAs), and wireless networking. Other examples of wireless technology include GPS units, garage door openers and or garage doors, wireless computer mice, keyboards and headsets, satellite television and cordless telephones.
Radio frequency
Radio frequency (RF) is a rate of oscillation in the range of about 30 kHz to 300 GHz, which corresponds to the frequency of electrical signals normally used to produce and detect radio waves.
RF usually refers to electrical rather than mechanical oscillations, although mechanical RF systems do exist.
The frequency we use is in the order of 50MHz.
MODEM
A modem (modulator-demodulator) is a device that modulates an analog carrier signal to encode digital information, and also demodulates such a carrier signal to decode the transmitted information.
The goal is to produce a signal that can be transmitted easily and decoded to reproduce the original digital data.
Modems can be used over any means of transmitting analog signals, from driven diodes to radio.
The modem is a device used in affecting communications between computers across telephone lines.
PROPOSED SYSTEM
The challenge is to answer the question of whether a system based on ISM transmitters and receiver can provide sufficient coverage in relatively short period of time.
In an extensive evaluation, which includes a real world experiment with our electrical device health detection prototype, we therefore analyze the properties of the coverage obtained given a wide range of different operational parameters such as the, voltage, temperature, and short circuit information is monitored at control cabin.
MICROCONTROLLER ATMEL 89C51
microcontroler

A microcontroller (sometimes abbreviated µC, uC or MCU) is a small computer on a single integrated circuit containing a processor core, memory, and programmable input/output peripherals.
Program memory in the form of NOR flash or OTP ROM is also often included on chip, as well as a typically small amount of RAM.
Microcontrollers are designed for embedded applications, in contrast to the microprocessors used in personal computers or other general purpose applications.

ADVANTAGES
Huge damage to the electrical devices is saved.
Control action is done in few micro seconds time.
Operates ruggedly in all noisy environments.
APPLICATIONS
Managing items in a warehouse
Usage as emergency services
Locating personal objects
Organization support
Locating landmarks inside a factory is also possible if we use GSM modems additionally.
