ABSTRACT

ROUTE MAPPER (GPS & ZIGBEE)

Introduction:

GPS (Global Positioning System) is a navigation system composed of a flotilla of satellites put into orbit by the Department of Defense, and their ground stations. With GPS, one can automatically determine the precise location (latitude and longitude) at any point on earth using a ground device that picks up signals from multiple satellites. It works continuously in any part of the world and is available to anyone free of charge. With origins in secret military applications, GPS is now part of everyday life. Dedicated receivers are small and inexpensive and GPS technology is now found in airplanes, boats, automobiles, cell phones, personal digital assistants, and many other common products.

Zigbee is the upcoming technology in wireless field, we had tried to demonstrate its way of functionality and various aspects like kinds, advantages and disadvantages using a small application of controlling the any kind of electronic devices and machines. The zig-bee technology is broadly adopted for bulk and fast data transmission over a dedicated channel. The other advantage using zig-bee is that we can build a network of several nodes.

Project Description:

The aim of the project and implimentation is to study and implement the hardware design and software programming required for a GPS to track the vehicle location. This project and implimentation includes both the hardware interfacing design and the software programming in Embedded C Language for 89C51 ATMEL Microcontroller. The data from the satellite will be tracked by the GPS module and the same will be given to the micro controller and from the micro controller we will send those signals to PC using ZIGBEE. Once the microcontroller get the data in longitude and latitude format, that format will be sent to the PC using ZIGBEE, then the on PC monitor we will display those signals.
HARDWARE REQUIREMENTS:
1. MICRO CONTROLLER
2. RS 232 PROTOCOL
3. GPS MODULE
4. ZIGBEE MODULE

SOFTWARE REQUIREMENTS:
1. EMBEDDED ËœKEIL C ËœLANGUAGE
2. ASSEMBLY LANGUAGE

ABSTRACT:

Bluetooth device provides a way to connect and exchange information between devices such as mobile phones, laptops, PCs, printers, digital cameras, and video game consoles over a secure, globally unlicensed short-range radio frequency. It is a device for wireless serial communication. Blue Tooth module ranges from 2.402GHz-2.48 GHz. Blue Tooth operated at the globally unlicensed 2.4GHz industrial scientific medical (ISM) band. Bluetooth offers a more flexible approach due its low power consumption, high data rates (742kbps) and its ability to make several simultaneous connections. The distance range is from 10mtrs to 100 meters.
This Robotic device can be controlled using your PC at home. Through your PC we will transmit pre-defined commands to control the movements of the Robotic Device. The commands are transmitted through a Bluetooth transmitter connected to your PC. The Bluetooth receiver at the Robotic end will receive the data and perform the corresponding task.
